I have a cactus or I think it is-all I have ever hear it called was chicken-foot cactus.
This was handed down to me by my mama many years ago & I know nothing about this plant.Does it bloom-mine never has. If I posted in the wrong forum,I'm sorry-I just would like to get some information & background on this old-time plant.Thank you for any help, you can give me.

Christmascactus...I googled "chicken foot" cactus and didn't find anything. Can you possibly post a pic so we could see what it looks like? Or even if you could give us a link to something on the internet that looks like it, that would help.
Katherine :)
Katherine,sorry I don't have a picture.
Thank you so much for trying to help me.
Hopefully someone will come along & tell us something.

I don't think anyone is ignoring anyone, they just don't know the answer.
Mary-I think you are right-I just wish I had more information to give out but I don't.
Maybe if we keep searching-we can find out something.I was hoping someone here had the same kind of plant & could tell us more about it.
That is the problem with common names. Many growers give something a name that is cattchy but that has never been used before. Helps sell plants but does nothing to identify them.
I did some searching, also. I found one reference to chickenfoot cactus (one word) but it was only some kind of an entry, like a diary.
So, I was thinking that maybe it was something that your mom called chicken foot cactus because that's what it looked like to her, or it's from someplace like Chickenfoot Lake.
Can you describe it?
Mary-look on the cactus & succulent forum-under the same name"chicken foot cactus".No,mama didn't give it's name,it was what was told to her.
RUK has just about-if not has this one pegged.
George-this is one of those old-time pass-along-plants-so it's no telling why or how it got's it's name.
