I am not your typical "CrapeMudering" type gardener..I like mine "Au Naturel" as I was pulling out of my driveway..I spotted my White CrapeMyrtle "Natchez" in my rear view mirror and my heart just skipped a beat..to think that beauty is in my Gardens!!...Hope you enjoy...Jeanne
Awww..The Crapes are in bloom
Jeanne, I have always thought natchez is the best looking because canopy is so round-looking. Of course, the "massacre pruning" might account for the ugly shape of so many crape myrtles you see around. You have a beautiful tree.
Jeanne, that's gorgeous!! So glad to hear you're not the "crape murder" type, I hate seeing the poor things mutilated like that. You have a beautiful yard, and the tree is a jewel!
Jeanne, your Natchez is beautiful. I have one like your small one and love it to pieces. Many years ago, the people on my street were offered a good deal on crepe myrtles. Lots of people bought them. Unfortunately, they lob them off each year. I shaped mine when young for about 4 years and have left them alone except for pruning off limbs so that people are able to drive down the strret and walk down the sidewalk. The people who lobe the tops down keep asking me why their trees don't look like mine. I keep informing them that they need to stop hacking them off and have even offered to prune them for a couple of years until they take on a more natural shape. But only one of my neighbors has listened to me. His is recovery quite nicely and soon will be magnificent.
Hey..Maggie..we are neighbors..LOL..I live in Willis on lake Conroe..
I know, it's amazing we haven't run in to each other!! Where do you hang out on the forums? What nurseries do you like? We should get together sometime!!
