Potting Up Plumeria Cuttings in Early Stages

Finally got some cuttings going in perlite and have moved them outside and used regular water and fertilizer. They finally have leaves. I am concerned about potting them in soil when they seem alright now. Should I try to repot in soil or leave them alone? If I need to repot, how should I take care not to damage the roots and lose progress? Thanks.

Yes, you should repot to well-draining potting soil. You can mix in some Perlite if you wish. Perlite alone is good for initial rooting but contains no nutrients and retains no moisture. That fertilizer probably ran right through the container without feeding the roots. Carefully, turn over the container that your cutting is in and grab hold of the stem and lightly pull the container away. Plumerias have fragile roots, and sometimes you will lose some during repotting. At times, root loss cannot be avoided. Once the rooting process has started, it will continue, and it will continue more rapidly. I would water with Vitamin B-1 after you have repotted your plumeria. Vitamin B-1 can be found at Home Depot and other garden shops. It lessens transplant shock and encourages root growth.
