Just because.

I took a photo of my favourite of all my plants, Clerodendrum Ugandense, and I thought I'd share.

Liz, I know you told me I can put the two beauties that I got from you, outside, but I can't bring myself to do it. :(. I have them and my Passifloras, in a Southwest window, where they seem to be thriving. There, I can control the pests and other enviromental conditions without any problem. I know, there is no hope for me... I spoil my cats the same way...

It is such a pretty bloom. Has it grown enough for you take a couple of cuttings? It really does so much better outside. How about putting one of the two outside for starters?
You want it to start shooting from the roots. It becomes a shrub.
It obviously loves you though.

Very pretty!

Very exotic-looking flower!

Thank you Yumiko and Todd.

Liz, this one is the smaller of the two plants that I received from you. The other is not blooming at the moment, but it is twice the size and getting bushy with 4-5 new branches growing now. I could take cuttings, I guess. You really think they would do even better outside? The flowers are so fragile, I can't imagine them standing up to a breeze of any kind.

Beautiful! I have one to. I'm hoping it will bloom for me this summer.

MIne have been outside for about 2 months. Rain, wind and hail. They haven't missed a beat. They are tougher than they look.

OK, they are going out today. We are supposed to have some pretty hot weather over the next few days, so I'll choose a spot that doesn't get the afternoon sun. Here goes! :)

Moose Jaw, SK(Zone 3b)

Mine is doing great in full sun Donna....I'd definitely harden it off first tho. If it can handle full sun in Florida it certainly will do well with ours. I found mine is much happier outside than it was inside.....the growth mine is showing now is phenominal.

It's a gorgeous plant and yours will thrive outside.

LOl, now that we have that settled, let's talk about your passifloras still inside. lol

Castlegar, BC(Zone 6b)

Yes, she says sheepishly..., two of the three I have are still inside. The one Sandy gave me at RU was grown from the actual Passion Fruit appears to be bigger and stronger. I have it outside and it's doing fabulously. The other two that I got at the RU that Inanda brought, are finer plants and grow like the dickens. I have them growing on trellis' in my living room picture window. These should go outside too, huh? I guess I could move them trellis and all. Maybe I'll attempt them tomorrow. This is all to much for me in one day. I'll be a basket case already, running in and out checking my Clerodendrum Ugandense for bugs, as it is!! :D

Thanks for the encouragement ladies. I appreciate it.

Beautiful Clerodendrum, Donna. The flowers look like cute little butterflies!

Hmm....guess I should put my RU passifloras out too....eek. You first, Donna!

I did it, Shannon...two days ago. Your're it!" :D
