Growth or bud?

I know I can just wait and see, but that's no fun. Any bets whether this is a bud or new growth on my strictum? What, if anything, distinguishes the two?

BTW, got some lovely epi oxy cuttings at the round-up -- lucky me! I've got plenty now to keep me out of trouble.

I'd say bud, but then, I'm the Eternal Optimist!

There are a few of them, Darius, but this is my first plant, so I wasn't sure. Pat did say it might bloom some more after the two that were on the plant when I bought it.

Also, I was comparing them to some other "things" coming out on my E. Ackermanii (sp?), which are prob. new growth since it's a new cutting. Trying to get a picture of that, too, but I need three hands and better eyes!

Always assume it's a bud until proven otherwise. That's my motto! :-)

oooh, nice! Got something to look forward to.

Something I wanted to ask you all -- is it common for plants to sometimes have three-sided stems?

Yes, my red epi does.
