So what's new in the brug world?

Judsonia, AR(Zone 7b)

What are you growing this year that's considered anew brug?

and have you registered it or not?

I haven't kept up with all the new ones , and was just wondering what's out there now

I have two crosses I'm growing out for friends and I'm growing any number of crosses, from seed, and I'm not sure if they are new. I can tell you, almost as a certainty, that it is unlikely I'll ever have a brug of my own to name or register. So far, I'm enjoying learning the ups and downs of growing brugs and seeking out and growing beautiful brugs that thrive in the extreme conditions of my area. I'm totally uninterested in hybridizing but I'm really enjoying growing out special brugs for pals.
Oh, I do have Susanne and, if I'm correct, she was recently registered. She is already one of my favorites and has super staying in this heat/humidity 'storm' we've encountered...

cool Sherry, I"ve not heard of susanne, and you know, I"ve never grown out any seeds of any kind before. Iknow what you mean, about not wanting to hybridize, I don't htink I ever want to do that either LOL

kathy_ann, Susanne is a beauty and holds up well in our area and does not melt like many do, I really like her. I defoliated mine but she had 4 beautiful blossoms that lasted almost a week without a single leaf on her, but she's already putting on new ones, looks like she will be fine. You will enjoy seeds, I LOVE them but have only had one to bloom, of course I hope more will this year........this one isn't new, but do you have Charles Grimaldi?? I have cuttings that i just started this week and you talk about a rooting fool, it's really off to town...

yeah, I do have charles germaldi, it's a really good fragrant one, like the tequila sunrise. I love both of them.

Well, that's good to know, if it performs like it roots, it has to be a winner, I'm glad it's a fragrant one!!!

Nothing for trade or sale just now, but someday...
The new or newer ones that I'm growing for the first or 2nd year are Bonnie Jean,Nancy's Angels, Serendipity, Jamie, Lexy, Peanut, Miners Claim, Axel Rose, Dorthea, and older newer ones Daybreak, Vixen, Afterglow, L'amour, Mountain magic, with orders for Painted lady and Miss Emily, and several that I won't even mention until/unless they bloom true, since they came cheap from a somewhat ratty flea market. Nothing worthy of consideration for registration in the way of seedlings yet; most are pretty pinks, like so many on the market. Maybe one very pale peach/pink, but it's only it's second flush since last fall. I have a batch of seedlings from Axel, none albino yet, but none varigated either, or I'd be hooting like a mad woman! Also a batch of new seedlings from a cross that has produced several wonderful double pinks. It's going to be another beautifully fragrant summer here!!

WEll, those sound wonderful, I've heard of a couple of them, never seen their flowers though, I"ve heard wonderful things of miners claim, i've not seen that flower either. A double pink sounds great! thanks fo r the post lagata, Can't wait to see your flower posts in the future.

If there are any missing from the data base here, let me know and I might be able to add a few, now or in the near future.

Thanks, I"m gonna go look to see some flowers now LOL
