One good cross should fill your yard with different brugs

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

A new seedling bloomed for me yesterday.

Today I was trying to update my hybridizing files and realized all the looks I have gotten from just one seedpod.

and

This goes to show that not all seeds from the same pod are going to look the same!

Even a white one

Each one prettier than the one before, I LOVE the first and the last!!!! What is the cross???

Greensburg, IN(Zone 6a)

I love them all

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

And Karrie they are all sizes too! And shapes. And colors. LOL

Can anyone guess this cross? No cheating if I have mentioned the cross to you before or posted it with a pic in the past.

And a huge one.

I meant to mention the 2nd too, the 2nd and last look similar, they are soooo pretty!!!

Spokane, WA(Zone 5b)

I'll take a guess! Rosamond & Pink Beauty????

Pocahontas, TN(Zone 7b)

Ok so someone tell me... the white blooms look a pale shade of green on my computer monitor, does it on yours? If not tell me how to adjust the color on my monitor.

Thanks Judy

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

They had just opened Judy and had not turned all the way white yet. I just take a qucik shot for my photo seedling journal to give me an idea of what I have gotten from a cross before I toss them or move them.

Vancleave, MS(Zone 8b)

that's so awesome. Great that you showed how many differnt plants that can come from a single cross.

SE Arky, United States(Zone 8a)

Yep, I agree Donna, I've known that each cross could be different, and Kell's photos really tells the story. I planted 45 of one cross, and the all sprouted, sorta boggles my mind, considering that there could be so many different blossoms, shapes and fragrances...

Tulsa, OK(Zone 6b)

Sometimes you can see major differences in the leaves a long time before they're big enough to bloom! It isn't a fair comparision, because it's a mixture of seeds, but I have several of your pink salad group, and every one is different. Oh, I better explain the 'pink salad', huh? You sent me a package marked 'mixed pinks'. Well, mixed pinks reminds me of mixed greens, mixed greens is salad, so these have have always been pink salad in my mind!

Pocahontas, TN(Zone 7b)

Whew!! I thought either my eyes or the computer screen were on the blink!! Thanks for the explanation.

Spokane, WA(Zone 5b)

Pink Salad....... I like that! :-)

SE Arky, United States(Zone 8a)

That's pretty cute Ronna, do you mind if I call mine Pink Salad too?? Have yours Yed?? Do you have buds and expect then to bloom this season???

Winnipeg, MB(Zone 4a)

They are all gorgeous!
:) Donna

Columbia, SC(Zone 8a)

Kell, they're all pretty, what a variety from one cross. I really like the white one, love the calyx.

I'm growing Mixed Pinks too, none of mine have y'd yet.

Kannapolis, NC(Zone 7b)

They look fantastic, Kell.

Keaau, HI(Zone 11)

Some of those are breathtaking! I like that last white too!!! Looks Pixie-ish. Thanks Kell.

Buffalo, NY(Zone 6a)

Kell, magical, really.
Such an interesting thread... the possibilities are what makes growing from seed so exciting.

Spokane, WA(Zone 5b)

so what was the cross?

Homestead, FL(Zone 10b)

Those are nice Kell. I really like the first flower.

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

How weird, I answered this last night and my post is gone!! Karrie, it is EP X L'A.

I forgot to look for some pics of Rosamond X Pink Beauty for you. I have 2 of those from Susie seeds and they look very much like their parents. They make big strong plants. One of mine flowered a sl darker pink for me than Rosamond. And one has longer tendrils. Both make impressive big flowers.

North Vancouver, BC(Zone 8b)

They're all beautiful Kell. You must be having a ball with all your seedlings.

Spokane, WA(Zone 5b)

I'd like to try some "Pink Salad" seeds if anyone would like to help get me started on them! I enjoyed growing from seed my first year. Amazing how fast they grow once they germinate.

Hattiesburg, MS(Zone 8a)

Kell did the first one darken up as it aged?

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

I haven't been back there since, Barb. That was Tuesday I took that pic. I am going soon so I will look. I sure liked her looks.

She is next to a huge Rosebelle but that has been planted in the ground for a few years so no fair comparing them; since this one is underpotted in a 5 gallon can, but they looked alot alike except mine is smaller. LOL, how was that for huge run on sentence?

Thanks everyone. Karrie I do not think I have any left. I will look.

Here is a Rosemond x Pink Beauty pic for you. I call it Pinkmond2.

Kell - if you don't, just keep me in mind for your next seeds, if you are going to be doing any pollinating again. That Pinkmond2 is very pretty!

Angleton, TX(Zone 9a)

It is so unique the difference in flowers that were all from the same pod. I like think they are all pretty in their own individual way.

Grass Lake, MI(Zone 5a)

Great photos Kell ... can't wait to see if the 1st one has darkened up or the 3rd one. That is too cool ... thanks for sharing. I need to go talk to mine .... they best get to growing.
