Cuke Problems

Harper, TX(Zone 8a)

I have 2 kinds of cukes. Straight Eights, doing great, but my pickling cukes are just turning into
yellow globes, Anyone have any ideal what the problem may be. Thanks Txsdar

It could be a virus, nutrient imbalance or too much water. Pick those that are turning yellow to encourage more fruit set to see if the next ones are green.
Maybe your pickling ones had the wrong seeds and they are a yellow fleshed cultivar, but I don't know of a globe-shaped one.The Lemon cucumber was so grows to the size and shape of lemon and at maturity turns lemon yellow then golden yellow.

It might be that you are letting them stay on the plant too long, and they are going to seed.
All cukes will turn yellow if allowed to mature.

No they are not on the vine too long. They are not maturing. Only 1 out of 4 is maturing. The straight 8's are doing ok and they all get the same water. Guess the seeds were just not good ones. Bummer. Txsdar
