I have found that our hoyas do what they want, when they want:-) They don't follow the "Hoya Rule" book. Case in point is this Hoya Macrophylla cutting I received from David Liddle in April. It is now blooming and has two more flowa buds.

You definately have two green thumbs Awanda. My guess is that it could depend on the particular hoya. I once received my cutting of H. thompsonii so I made two cuttings to root. They rooted and one of the cuttings immediately made a flower peduncle.
