I went shopping Saturday and went to a Nursery in Wichita and got a bunch of neat plants for 50% off. So I needed some potting soil and some pots. I hadn't been to Lowe's in a while and thought I would stop in on my way home. They had some of there plants marked down as will. See the Hardy Banana Plant I got for $5. After buying all these neat plants for 50% off I had to spend all day Sunday working outside in the yard from 7am to 4pm in 95 degree weather, does anyone feel sorry for me. LOL.
I did get everything planted and made this flower bed for my Musa Banana Plant. It looks like I may loose couple leaves, but if it makes it I will be one happy gardener.
BTW my DH was gone all day Sat. and Sun. on a fishing trip. So he never got a chance to say anything about my flowers that I got. Since he thought I was done, buying for the summer. But he really doesn't care, he says whatever trips your trigger, go for it.

to funny Linda. Wish my hubby would tell me that. He yells I have to many plants and don't need more and if I plant anything else in his way he will mow them down ROFL!!!!
Oh he complains every time he gets off the lawn mower, he tells his brother use to have a wife that did all the mowing, so if she made a new flower bed it was her that had to mow around it. But now she is to busy to mow because she is tending to all her flower beds that I have to figure a way to get the mower around. I just laugh at him and go on to see where I can put in another bed. HeHe, aren't I mean. He fishes and I make obstacle courses for him to mow around. But after everything is said and done, he is always telling everyone that since I have retired I have brought our home stead to life by growing a garden and all my pretty flowers. Go figure.

Linda next time you come to Wichita, come by and take me with you,
I never find those half off deals!!!
Nice things is I'll let you buy all you want, and you can leave them here I'll plant them,so you hubby won't have to mow around them!!!!LOL
Say the guy across the isle from me at work, his wife's family own the the greenhouse nursery in Arkansas city, have you ever been to it?
I don't ever remember seeing one there, but it has been a while since I've been there.
I have visited Ark City Greenhouses on east Kansas don't know if that is the one you are talking about or not. I like this one real will they plant all there own flowers and get them started. Our GH in town here has everything shipped in to them. Then there is another one that is about 1/2 mile further east on Kansas called Frazee. Only have stopped in there a few times.
Talking about getting things cheap, I went to our Dillon's yesterday and they still had a few Hibiscus trees 7 ft ones and then a few of the 4 ft size and 3 bushes. I went in to the floral area and asked the gal in charge when they were going to mark them down because they were really starting to look bad . She told me she hadn't gotten any thing yet from the head office to mark them down. But if I was interested she would make me a real good deal. The 7 ft. ones she would sell for $15, they were originally $40. The 4 ft sell for $10, they were originally $20, and the bush she would sell for $5, originally $13. I So I made a quick trip down to my DH shop and got his Dodge, and went back and got me a 7 ft and a bush. I would have gotten another bush but the last two I didn't think I would be able to save them. Paid $20 total. I got them repotted this morning, and the tree had two blooms opening and after it was repotted and watered good, 3 more opened up. Nothing on the bush yet but give it time. She told me about the middle of July they would be getting in Hardy Hibiscus for $9.99. I told her I have 16 of them planted out now, but if she has any that I don't have I may have to consider them.
