Hot Weather Petunias
They are gorgeous, Txsdar. Do you know what kind they are?
Adeline
No I am sorry I do not. I bought them at Lowes last March!
Adeline, I wanted to show you a great picture of the Laura Bush Petunias, they love the heat, but I haven't taken any good pics of them yet. They are fragrant and they re-seed, and Wildseed Farms even sells seed for them! They are designated as a Texas Superstar. I love them!

I've been wanting to grow Laura Bush or V.I.P. for two years but I've never seen them for sale. But next year I'll try from seed. Are they hard to get started from seed?
Wish I could tell you. I just bought seed this year, then when I got back to town, Arbor Gate had gotten them in the 4" containers. I always go for instant gratification when I can (also, I am not very good at seed starting or propagation of any kind.) I would think that they are, since they are supposed to re-seed on their own pretty well.
Siggy, the 'Laura Bush' and the V.I.P. are very easily started from seed. Mine reseed a few each year. The 'Laura Bush' plants that I have in the ground (reseeded plants) are still doing great. The ones I have in pots are a little straggly looking and I just trimmed them back and fertilized them.
Maggie, I go for intsant gratification too. The 'Laura Bush' are sold out very quickly here and I grab them as fast as I can. I think I bought mine in early March. The fragrance is heavenly.
