I just started getting curcumas last year and kept them in pots. They died back for the winter and are now back in full growth and have multiplied. I would like to incorporate them in the landscaping but since they die back, I don't want to leave a bunch of bare spots for the winter. How does everyone else use them in their landscaping?

I put them next to trees and fencing.....

I just put them in the back yard anywhere. My back yard is mainly planted in tropicals and everything dies back at the first frost.
That's the problem. Most of my tropicals don't die back so I don't want empty spots scattered around. I suppose I could plant some kind of winter annual over it like I did when they were in the pot last year. I started coleus seeds. By the time the curcumas emerged, the coleus were able to be moved to beds.
Lucky you...LOL, I they will come up through anything so if your coleus will grow through the winter through the seeds there...

I got these before doing the research. I was devasted when they "died".
Couldn't figure out what I had done wrong since they had been blooming so nicely. Thank goodness I read that they died back and went dormant before tossing them out
