Donna-like your bloom. Haven't see mine bloom. Have gotten rid of most of my Kampheria except for the the one that gets real big. Might be the same as your picture. They are not very winter hardy here and have to many things in gh.
I was gifted w/one of these once that didn't survive for me, even though it did sprout again after dormancy (I think I forgot to water it!)
The foliage is spectacular, even without blooms, IMHO!
Don't you agree?!
The bloom surely adds to that beauty though...good going!
neat!! all of my kaemp have the purple and white flower...
didn't know you had kaemps Trish
not like I use to Donna.. but did manage to find a couple when they were dormant to dig up and bring with me.
I guess it is a different one Kaleem. This is my first one to have. I Have another coming up that is supposed to be different. Will post a pic when it gets some good folage showing
Theres not to many Kaempferia you can go to gingers r us and id them there pretty easy to id too...
ely....
hi yall,
I have this one and it is beautiful, it is actually reclassified from a Kaem to Cornukaempferia it is called Jungle Gold http://davesgarden.com/pf/go/65857/index.html
thanks for the info Lisa
oh yeah I rember that mine hasn't bloomed.... I gave one to you and one to jt and I have the other one... =)
lisa, haven't seen you posting much lately. Where are all those beautiful flowers. We miss them.
Incredible leaf Donna! Looks like velvet.
bward, My garden looks pretty sad this year. Between lack of rain and fighting with armadillos, I've given up. The lack of rain I can handle, the 'dillos have me beat. They have torn up just about all my gingers. Some of my globbas are gone forever. I planted and replanted a beautiful blue althea 4 times this year. Each time the 'dillo dug it up. Sad part is that I planted it 3 different spots and a dillo managed to find it every time.
I am also working now and takes most of my free time. I miss being home.
edited to say thanks for missing my plants :-)

Lisa, so sorry about your loosing battle with the armadillos. Your gingers were so beautiful. Always enjoyed you sharing their blooms. If you need replacements and want to try again in future, email me and I will gladly share what I can.
Donna, that's a pretty one! I thought all kaempherias were purple!
Isn't their foilage beautiful!
Kay
it is very pretty. Have another one coming up. Maybe it will have purple blooms
barb, thank you for your kind and generous offer. But for now, I am just sitting out gardening.
Thank you for thinking of me.
I have one with blue blooms, can't seem to get a pic before we water, though, so the blooms are wilty. Not a good pic, maybe I can get one tomorrow.
Janet
LOL Janet. I usually think about pics after I have watered and have to wait
