My neighbor just gave me a bunch of Crinums and then left town without giving me instructions. Do I plant them with the neck exposed? How much? Thanks!
Crinums
I would plant them rather shallow, less than half the bulb in the ground. The mature bulb is large, 6 inches across is not uncommon. They make offsets freely and from one or two bulbs you will have a huge clumb in a few years.
What color? I have a pink and a white.
I haven't got a clue what color they will be! When she returns from her vacation I'll be sure to ask!
Thanks for the information ~ I'll need to go out tomorrow and lift them a bit ~ I planted them a little bit too deep.
Right now the foliage is a bit beat up. Can I snip off the damaged ones now or should I wait until winter?
