Some of you have heard me refer to one of my beds as "The Swamp".. here is a picture I took this morning. There is just about everything down there with the exception of gators. The nice part about the Swamp is that I never have to water
The Swamp
Wow, that is really nice Trish!
awsome.... who is the pink brug?
ely
the pink brug is Insignis pink
thanks all.. I'm hoping some of my other brugs and gingers will soon start blooming.. the smell should be over=powering.
it is awesome Trish
is that colocasia violet stem bottom almost centered....
ely
ely....
no, unfortunately it is the wild invasive type.. I've been pulling up large garden trash bags full of it and pitching as fast as they are speading... I didn't plant it there.. it was there when I moved in and the battle to remove was started.. I have to admit.. if it wasn't so invasive it would be pretty.. I love its striped stalk.
I need to look at them before you chunch some more in the garbage...LOL
ely
oh heck.. I just pulled up another trash bag full.. I'll stop (there's still plenty.. till you get here...
hey Trish, everytime I gather up a bunch of colocasias or xanthosomas, I offer them up here and they get snapped up.
I go down the address exchange and send them to people....
=)
ely
They have got violet stems right trish? or did that go away with age... I have a stran of the common green that gets a violet stem in the spring and it turns green a couple of weeks later.
ely
the upper part of the stem is violet.. lower where the stem is thicker it is vertical strips
I got to admit Lisa.. it does look happy and healthy in its new home
trish, wish I had a swamp!! Not really..too many skeeters here now the way it is!! Good job though.
Kyle, I was thinking the same thing, I need a swamp sans mosquitoes! I watered till dark last night and watered some more this morning.
MzM, your swamp looks so lush and green and Lisa's jungle does too!
