Trollius acaulis...I've tried this one twice in the past and killed it...maybe three times the charmer!

They look great Todd, something to remember your 40th with. ;)

LOL.....must be something about those Trollius! I'm on my third one now and it must be the charm cause it came back this year. So hopefully the same will happen for you Todd.

Lovely presents........I really like your Geranium pratense. I just picked up Geranium pratense 'Midnight Reighter' http://davesgarden.com/pf/showimage/79647/ not too long ago. I'll have to watch for your cultivar now. :)

I also picked up three new Siberians Iris; Roanoke's Choice, Dance Ballerina Dance and Snow Queen. Two new Japanese Iris, Innocence and Sorcerer's Triumph. The latter was a steal at $4.50....all other nurseries in St. John's were charging $15 for that one...it certainly pays to shop around. Also a variegated yellow flag, and a mixed collection of alpines for the rockery (2 sempervivums, 2 phlox subulata, a Phlox stolonifera, a Hypericum cerastoides, edelweiss, a purple-leaved sea thrift, a white flowered Campanula cochlearifolia and Lychnis flos-cuculi 'Nana')......phew I'm tired! A good day for sure!

OK.......the JI Innocence and Sorcerer's Tumpet are new to me. I'll give up the 'Okey Dokey' but I have to track down those two. I'm totally in love with my pond when I have both the ensata and nymphaea blooming together. Ü

Todd, you certainly did take good advantage of those gift certificates. Nice plants! I really like those Hostas! Please post some pictures of the Geranium pratense when it blooms. I have a perennial geranium this year beside my pool. I'll do the same.

Great gifts, Todd. I've never seen the geranium that you picked up or yours, Pam. I'll have to keep my eyes open.

They should add a wonderful contrast....I'm tired of all green. I saw a drop dead gorgeous dark leafed Birch (leaves were browny purple) the other day and I paused for a looooooooooong time to drool over it.

Todd how warm is it there right now? I saw they are predicting possible f.. r.. o.. s.. t tonight in some areas there!?!?! :b

Great plants Todd, I'm glad you put your certificates to such good use. Wonderful pictures too.
Christine.

Yesterday it was 26 C but today the wind came north and the temp plummeted to 10 C in about 30 minutes. We are suppose to drop to 5 C tonight, but central Newfoundland is suppose to fall to just 2 C...I really don't expect anything better since we have had such a horrible spring heading into a not-so-great summer. The lilacs are just starting to bloom and my tulips are still out. That's a personal record to have tulips open into July. I'll post them on July 1 just for a laugh! (actually its quite pathetic but you have to have a sense of humour about it)

Moose Jaw, SK(Zone 3b)

LOLOL......the prairie peeps have cultivated a similar humor. ;)

Tooooo true.

Well it dropped colder than predicted...got to 3 C in my yard; frost on the roof tops but no apparent damage to any plants. It was quite a shock on the begonias that just came out of the greenhouse the day before!

On the plus side, it is suppose to be 20-24 C for the rest of the week....do I dare think summer has finally arrived?
