My Cavalier, Penny, has Episodic Falling which is a sort of seizure disorder. I've started a website (which some of you have been involved in)- and today, we lost our first puppy. She had just been spade and went into an episode that she couldn't come out of.. The good news is that we are helping people keep their puppies well and alive - but I don't think that I was prepared for the attachment I get to these little pups even though I've never met them. And the human story is hard too. I heard from a lady yesterday who had just bought a puppy for their little girl and now it has EF and they don't want to take it back because it will surely be put down and her friends are telling her to put the puppy down. All I can tell her is how to medicate it and not to spend thousands of dollars on tests - which they can't afford anyway. And that she can live happily with her dog for a very long time. Just like I do with Penny.
Thanks for lending an ear.
We lost an Episodic Falling puppie today. Sad news.
