Help this chap is eating my brug!!

(Zone 8b)

Has anyone any idea what this is the caterpillar of? He is eating my brug to bits, but if he is something gorgeous I won't squash him!

Spokane, WA(Zone 5b)

Yes, that's what I'd do - toss it in another place. Would hate to kill a potential Butterfly.

Greensburg, IN(Zone 6a)

I have worms that size but they are the same color as the leaves, and hard to see

Moose Jaw, SK(Zone 3b)

Post a pic of him in the Garden Foes forum http://davesgarden.com/forums/f/pad/ ...... if he doesn't get ID'd here.

Vancleave, MS(Zone 8b)

I have the same worm but think it is a big night moth cat so I don't kill them. Guess I need to pull out my books to see if I can find it. They just don't have a good moth cat book out there that I can find

Is he a loner or do you have squads of them?
Caterpillers give me the creeps to touch but could you just heave him into the neighbor's yard?

(Zone 8b)

He is a single chap - and he has been 'moved' into an empty lot - hope he is OK!!

Keaau, HI(Zone 11)

50 seedlings about 6" high were defoliated over night by two little green cats. They are in Caterpiller Heaven, as we speak!!

YUK

Yukon, OK(Zone 7b)

YUK is right! LOL I don't like any of them. They eat their way around all my brug leaves and also my coleus. I just sprayed with BT tonight. I think I picked off 20 this morning and took them a block away to a friends house. LOL

Those cats sure can eat up a storm!!! Here check out this site you might find your crawlin munching machine.

Kannapolis, NC(Zone 7b)

Wow, what a site. I've never seen so many worms (and hope I never do)

(Zone 8b)

Well the nearest I can find to him is an eleohant hawk moth. That poor brug - something else munched it last night too - but it didn't stick around for me to find. The poor brug is now minus half its foliage!!

Today, when I was potting up some plants, I picked up a pot and there was the most awful worm I've ever seen, and I will tell you that I've never met a worm I like, I'm a girlie girl, but I accept them for the good they will do, but I don't want to touch them. This one was VERY long and was off white and taupe, not very wiggly. I hope to holy heck that he wasn't a good worm, but if he was, he's in worm heaven now, he made me sick. Any idea what he might have been??
