I was recently gifted a most spectacular book. The Evening Garden by Peter Loewer...and I am enthralled with it. Received it yesterday and started reading it last night... There is wonderful information about how lack of light affects the colors we see in the garden, fragrance etc. and that is only in the Introduction... Thought I would share this wonderful little book!!! Thank you on this public forum to the wonderful person who sent it!!!
You all may have also read that there is a new Tropical plant book on the Market....called A Tropical Garden Flora. I can easily throw out every other book I have and just keep this one!!! At 60.00 it is a bargain - cloth bound hard cover...exceptional plates and information!
(but, I did find a mistake about Hoyas...they list sp. Silver Pink as being of unknown origin which, of course it is not...)
Aloha
Wonderful book! - OT kinda
Both sound interesting....I love books.
Is 'A Tropical Garden Flora' the one by George Staples and Derral R. Herbst?
Looked it up on Amazon....unavailable.
Probably just as well....I'll have to hope to get it 'used' in the future.
That's the one, Nan...if you go on the Tropicals forum, I talked about the book, gave a toll free number to call to order it from here. 11.00 and change for shipping.
