Came in from the cold

Orlando, FL(Zone 9b)

Hi Everyone
I came across this site while trying to find some info on "Scarlet Runner Beans", and hope we found our second "home" LOL
We moved to Central Florida from Michigan 18 months ago. We both love to play in the yard and garden and what's better than to move to a place where things grow year round.
We're 50 and 44, our kids have grown and are on their own, except for our mini doxie "Precious".
We have a lot to learn about growing things in the "Jungle", which is what it seems like compared to "up north"
We will post pic's of some of our projects.
We also aquired the vacant lot next to our house which had been neglected for years. as we beat back the jungle we've found plenty of "treasures" from what must have been a beautiful lawn and garden in it's prime. So we have plenty of projects in mind, and a long "row to hoe".
I do have one quick question. I haven't seen the USDA Hardiness zones broken into "A's" and "B's" can someone tell me which we're in, 9a or b or if it even matters?
We hope to meet many new friends and look forward to your replies
Thanks Tim, Paulette & Precious.

Welcome aboard, Tim, Paulette & Precious. Most of the other registered users from Orlando indicate Zone 9b as their designation. Here is a link you might want to check out:

My eyeball agrees that it is 9b, but my eyes are much more reliable for maps of New England than they are for Florida. I think you'll enjoy it here at DG. I've only been a subscriber for a little over a month, but it is a lot of fun and the people are great. Enjoy!

Hi and welcome to DavesGarden!

Here's a map that shows the A/B sections for Florida.
