Ceedub....H. imperialis leaves

Here they are...white stuff is milk that leaked from somewhere.

And here is a close up of the stem...the hairs are very visible.

Thanks very much for all your trouble Carol. I'll compare them to mine when I'm home tonight and let you know what I think.

My plant has deep veins on the leaves, that I don't see on your plant. Mine also has those fine hairs on the leaves and stems, but they look like they may be longer than they are on your plant.

So, back to square one. Mine is probably not an Imperialis, if the leaves are any indication. Blooms will tell the final story. Time to wait....and wait...and wait...

CHristine....send me photos of the leaves again, showing the backsides too. I will see what I can find out altho leaves are very iffy. Show me a close up showing the veins. If you are using digital, you can take it from over a foot away and then crop out the part you want to see and it usually comes out very clear. If you can send them to me, I can print them out or play with them.
