I know this is the wrong forum, but since it is just about the only one I post on, I wanted to share this with you. We knew our second oldest daughter was very smart scientifically, as she is a micro-biologist, but never knew she was a poet as well. She wrote this for her father for Father's Day, and being the proud mom that I am, I wanted to share with my friends here on Dave's.

The pictures are of our family last Easter. We are standing on the 3 step front porch of our youngest daughter, Becki. DH, our oldest daughter, Juli, and the old fat one (me) are standing on the top step. Lauri and Becki are standing on the 2nd step, and our no. 3 daughter, Amy, and our son, Emerson, who is the baby of the family on the bottom step. As you can see, our kids really vary in height. Our son is 6'4", Juli is 5'9", Lauri is 5'3", Amy is 5'6" and Becki is 5'3". As you can probably guess the short ones take after me. The tall ones take after my father who was 6'3". DH is only 5'10" (actually I think he is shrinking in his old age and is only about 5'9" now). Please don't tell him this though. He likes to think he is 5'11". LOL
The bottom picture is Lauri's son, Allyn, who turned 15 Tuesday.

I'm so glad you shared that Minnie, you have all the right to be proud...I would be too! I love writing poetry as well...she must be proud too, her mother, father, and siblings are beautiful as well. That was truly inspiring...tell her she is gifted, and the whole family is blessed to have her. She's so deep and I like that, wow! I'm so impressed beyond words, I know the Father was too!

Thanks everyone. The Good Lord really has blessed us with 5 wonderful children. I give thanks everyday for our blessings.
