another new canna seedling..

this one bloomed today..kinda different, smaller flowers,dwarf very silvery lance leafed foliage.

Heather the seeds were from crosses I did in 93'these seeds were 12 years old! I dsidn't label the crosses at that point ..just crossed everything.The time from seed to first bloom was about 2 1/2 months.sometimes takes a looooong time to first bloom.

Well that one is beautiful! Looks like a peach smoothie! If you ever decide to trade some tubers....LOL!

Kyle, my slender purple-leaved canna seedlings finally bloomed. The flower is small, but they are a pretty cherry red.

My Canna "Cleopatra" is blooming now too for the first time. Antoinette sent me this one. Thank you, Antoinette!

Clare, nice red color..many of my slender red foliaged cannas are just setting buds so will see what I end up with..have had two dwarf reds with green foliage..a watermelon red and a deep red with a yellow eye.

I had a watermelon red on some of my seedlings last year, but I had to take them out because they were too big for where I had planted them. The dwarf ones would be nice. I do like the color of my red ones above, but I wish the flowers were bigger. Here are seedlings that bloomed last year:

This one had nice dark foliage, but the flowers were small.

This is the watermelon seedling that I got. It had green foliage.
