I found Dave's Garden after I saw a blue hibiscus in a magazine and wanted to google and see if it was really blue. I joined DG right away and also went on a month long search for the Blue Satins. So, now I have the gardening bug big time thanks all of you enablers...er.. wonderful people!
Anyway, enough reminiscing, today I got my first bloom!!! It is small and 'almost' blue and I am thrilled. I literally squealed lol. I am so excited. I had these potted in containers til I saw how they looked. Can I move them while they are blooming or should I wait til fall now to plant them? I don't want to ruin this show. I can't wait for them to pop, they are covered in buds!

I'm the hap-happiest girl in the whole USA!
Thanks Donna, as you can see it doesn't take much to make me happy. The blooms will be bigger later won't they? These are only 2-3 inches and I was expecting bigger.
I have been drooling over the tropicals and was looking forward to the next co-op. I wish I had gotten in on that one since there won't be any more :(

That's what it says over there. Even tho I haven't gotten my heuchera's, I was still hoping to join in on some other deals.

Rachel, These are shrubs that are normally grown in the ground and provided that you keep them watered, it should do better if you go ahead and plant it now.
I will warn you that both my pink and blue satins did not grow much the first year and only modestly last year. Now in their third growing season, I am seeing tons of buds and substantial growth.
And my blooms are normally in the 4 inch range. I'll try to measure my next open bloom for you.
