Darrell, Rosemary, my Silver Wave Petunia has flowers!.

Remember back in April we were discussing the Hybrid Tidal Wave Petunia's that Darrell, you gave me the link to order through Parks Seeds?

I planted them in mid April ( kinda late) but got excellent germination, and out of the package of 12 seeds I got three baskets of them. All of them have buds, but this one is the first to open. I am thrilled with how quickly they grew and they really are quite pretty. A nice change from the pinks. It will look really nice when it's cascading down the sides with mega blossoms in a 2-3 weeks.

Oh Wow Donna!

I'm ashamed of mine. Not really. ;) I just wish mine were bigger and had flowers. They are only now beginning to spread across the pot I have them in. I can still see the soil. They're comming, but they sure are taking their time.

I forgot what someone told me, but they said it takes (blank) amount of time for them to bloom. I forgot how much time it takes so I used, "(blank)". 14 Weeks? Anyway, she told me I would have blooms about the middle of July. I started them in the seedhouse to late for June flowers.

Do you know how long it takes to have blooms now? You must, your's are already blooming. lol

Thanks Donna. Once again you have impressed me. You're good at that. ;)

Ciao for now.

Darrell

Thanks Darrell and Sandy.

Well, I checked my Garden Journal and I planted those seeds on April 11, and the first flower opened on June 20, so that is 9 weeks. The conditions must have been just right, and as I said in my original message, I really babied those seeds and seedlings. I was just lucky, I think. I will post another picture of them when they are at their best.

Great flowers Donna! I have the "purple" that are actually deep fuscia. Didn't know they came in silver too. Next year....

I didn't either, Christine, until Darrell gave me the "heads up". I have always had the deep magenta/fushia color as well (growing a pot of them this year too), so when I heard about a different color, I jumped at it. Then of course, I noticed they were selling them at the nursery also this year. LOL But you know, they were so easy to grow from seed, I am going to do it again next year. I sure recommend Parks Seeds, Christine, if you want to try it too.

I dunno, seeds and me haven't been getting along too well... Of course, by January, I'll be chomping at the bit about getting some green stuff going for summer ...lol.

LOL, oh yes...that's exactly how I am too. :D

Very pretty Donna.

Thanks Jeanne. Crappy photograph, but the flower is indeed, pretty. It's actually a very very pale lavender color.
