Very pretty. I put in four but I put them in late in May. Not such a good idea in Tucson. They are a wilty mess despite three waterings a day.

So, yeah, I'm jealous. Maybe I should print out your picture and hang it up next to my plants...

TucsonJen, you could try cutting yours way back and only watering every couple of days. ive found that plumbago really doesnt get strong until its been in the ground awhile and once its established mine never really needed much watering. regardless, i cut mine way back every year because it does get straggly!

I agree with you. The first year I planted mine was late in the season. It struggled along in the heat. I did not cut it back but over the winter it did die back. By spring, I guess it had a good root system. Every since then it comes back strong and blooms all summer long. Looks great next to the pond.

rylaff,

Does yours die back in the winter....? Where is niceville anyway or is that YOUR name of a place?

I am in zone 8b, so it does die back. However, each year, it comes back bigger and better than the year before.
I actually live in Niceville Florida. That is really the name for it. It is 10 miles outside of Fort Walton Beach Florida and just across the bridge from Destin. We are on the bay but can go a couple of miles and be on the beach. We are up in northwest Florida, about forty five miles from Pensacola.
