Has anybody seen this tree for sale? One is planted in my yard and one in my father's......they were sold her in town about 40 years ago and proved to be a very popular tree with the locals. Unfortunately they are at the end of their life span and we would love to replace them (they haven't been seen for years at any nurseries we've checked in Saskatchewan). I've done a couple of quick searches but haven't found a site that lists them for sale.
Underwood Plum Trees
Description:
"Underwood: One of the hardiest of the hybrid plums, 'Underwood' has been pleasing home gardeners since 1920, making it also the oldest of the commonly available University of Minnesota releases. The fruit is medium-sized, with purple skin and yellow flesh, and of good eating and jam-making quality. 'Underwood' is an especially early hybrid plum, producing ripe fruit beginning in late July."
and
"Prunus 'Underwood', Standard Underwood Fruiting Plum (self-sterile) 10 to 15 feet
Fast grower with horizontal spread. Fruit is sweet and juicy. Hardy in most climates. Clingstone. Zone 4"
Though it says zone 4 we found it grew very well at the top of the hill where it would have been exposed to zone 3a conditions.
