from Mexico.......Painted Ladies. Millions of them. We've had extremely hot and humid weather and were originally told that it came from Texas. Given the vast numbers of unusual butterflies that have been seen here recently they are now thinking that our strange weather came from Mexico.
What was blown into Saskatchewan
Lovely :-)
Hey Julie! Ü
I've never seen anything like it.....every plant that's blooming seems to have a cloud of butterflies visiting it. I'd planted three butterfly bushes a week before they showed up.........I have a feeling we will have many flutterbyes spending time in our garden this summer! :)
The bad storm that we had, after the humidity was pushed up here, came from California, so I'm expecting we will see a number from that area as well. Ü

lilypons--how exciting for you! But I think you got our Butterflies! we haven't seen many at all here....
Hey Tabasco......nice to see you again! Ü
I think we do...Ohio, Texas, and Minnesota gave us the humidity and then California pushed the tornado system here. So I'll have to keep an eye open on which ones are fluttering around our yard. My father said he went outside his house and three huge butterflies, he's never seen here before, were right in front of his face.

Thanks John that will come in handy....we've got army cats that look similar so I'll have to be careful not to squish the Painted Ladies young.

Ha! Did you know that a group of caterpillars is called an army? Just learned that. ;-)
LOL......I'll take a number of Painted Ladies but a large army of their young could be pushing it. ;)
