Common name: Tulip Poplar, Tulip Tree
Family: Magnoliaceae
Genus: Liriodendron
Species tulipifera
I have many of these seedlings to trade (I don't really have a list and I like surprises -- anything that grows in a zone 5 or marginal 6) or for postage. They are volunteers from my parent tree, which are small but sturdy. I just feel guilty about ripping them out, so if anyone is interested let me know.
Thanks,
Colleen

I feel guilty about ripping them out too. Funny how plants can do that to you.
hey irishbelle
where is Campbell hall?
near Campbell?
I might be interested in some
how big are they?
Hi Crestedchik,
Campbell Hall, which ironically is near Monroe, New York, is apparently not near West Monroe. We are in Orange County, which is on the west side of the Hudson approximately 55 miles north of NYC. I'd be happy to send you some in the post, if you are interested. The trees probably range between 18-24 inches.

Colleen,
I'd love one or some for postage, if you still have these......

I should have closed this post a while ago, but things have been a little insane at home and at work. With all the goings on, I didn't get to transplanting these little trees as quickly as I should have. You know how you ask kids to do something and it never gets done? Well my nephew, who lives with me, is usually all about "okay tomorrow." Unfortunately, tomorrow came a bit sooner than experience typically indicates at my house. So . . . many of my little seedlings met with unfortunate demise when my nephew mowed and cleaned up the brushy areas for me after my not evening having to nag. Still, it is a lot better than the year he proudly wacked down all of this terrible brush growing under my pine trees -- big sigh -- they were 10 little azaleas I got on sale for $3 each.
Thanks to all for yor interest.
