Gotta figure how to bottle the aroma.......

Northern California, CA

The garden in full of Brug perfume tonight.........intoxicating!

This is just one of last year's limbs I cut from 'Dr. Seuss' then I stuck in the ground. He's now competing for his fair share of space in the jungle.

i just cannot wait till mine bloom!

Great picture. I also wish we could bottle up the fragrance. It would be a great pick me up during the winter.
I really like this evening shot. You have captured the upper leaves going into the sleeping position. Kinda like the raising of a curtain at the theater slowly raising for it's performance.

Lovely! I should have a batch of brugs in bloom by the end of the week. Can't hardly wait!

Warning; Don't buy the "angel trumpet' perfume being sold by a couple of places online; it smell like soap mixed with some sort of cheap floral toilet water. A Yucky disappointment!

Yep, he's loaded! Great job

Beautiful plant! It sure would be nice to bottle the fragrance. There is nothing quite like it!

A couple of us tried last year to make fragrance oil but it didn't work. My oil was downright repulsive to look at and to smell. Lagata is right about the oil you can purchase. It doesn't come close to smelling like a brug bloom.

Candy, your yellow blooms are so pretty. It's refreshing to see something that isn't pink, once in a while. I'm wondering if there will be a lot of yellow's made this year. I'm going to try to make a couple of yellow crosses, myself.

Candy your brug, is beautiful. I know I am probably going to regret not keeping Dr. Suess overwinter. I had it planted right by the hot tub and in the evening we would sit out there and just drink in the lovely frangrance.

Wow, that is beautiful Candy!!! Dr. Suess hates Arky!!

Candy I love your Dr. Suess, he is absolutely stunning, and so so full of blooms!

Here's mine, and I hope it grows to be as full as yours!

Glad you liked the "NIght" Dr. I just love it because it is a no-care fast growing Brug....instant gratification! My favorite times in the garden are "up with the birds" when the fragrance is just lingering and the "just before dark" when the fragrance is coming on strong. Yummy!!

Brug Addict your Dr. is very handsome.....are you able to leave him out year round?

Haven't had the opportunity yet...as I just received her. But I will

Thanks

I'll take on any extra DS cuttings that anyone doesn't want! That is a stunning color and plant!

I left Dr. Suess out for the winter, I NEVER expected it to come back because it did not do well last summer, from the get go - I was really surprised when it came back, and grew nicely until it was about 2 feet tall, nice and bushy, but leaves weren't as lush as others, then, as if it heard me mention it's limbs, it started a slow decline. I dug it up, replaced it with a Versi Peach, who loves it here, wintered outside, and continues to look great after being transplanted in really hot weather. Threw DS in a bucket, and, again, to my surprise, it started coming back, started looking like it was going to make it and them minute that thought ran through my mind, it started another decline...I'll toss it for sure this time...
