This is actually an older cultivar. David at Bluegrass Gardens told me that it was hybridized way back in 1958...that actually makes it only a year younger than me!

He also told me that this particular daylily changes durnig the day. This picture was taken about 3:30 in the afternoon and he says that it is quite different in the mornings...guess I'll go find out one of these days.

I was on a dead run that day...he had one that he wanted me to see that was a new seedling...that was the main purpose of that trip...am going back in the next week or two for goodies.....got Norwegian relatives who will be here and they'll enjoy the outing.
