Hi all!

I joined waaaay back in February, but for some reason just saw the "Welcome Mat" forum. So, sorry for the late intro!

Anyway, my name is Gina, and I live in Brooklyn, NY. No husband (yet) although I have a wonderful boyfriend, nor kids, but I have a kitty named Paloma. I'm an Art Director/Illustrator for a living – but I spend every free second in my garden (and probably every free penny on it, too)!! I joined DG the first day that I stumbled upon it, and I've checked-in almost every day since!

You'll find lots of us artsy folks around...seems like gardening and creative minds go together.

I am a textile artist, and custom dye fabric for others...looking forward to seeing you 'round the Garden. (I don't think we've met yet) My screen name and my real name are the same, but folks here just call me Mel.

gina - hi from upstate new york. can't believe you are from brooklyn. i grew up in the bushwick section of brooklyn. went to ps 74, halsey jr. hs and then bushwick hs. got married in st. barbaras on central ave. where about do you live in brooklyn

Actually, I must confess: I'm a NY transplant of 10 years -- originally from Minneapolis, MN!

I came to NY for college (Pratt Institute -- in Clinton Hill/Fort Greene), moving up to Greenpoint during my Junior year in college.

I know where Bushwick is, but I've never really explored -- so unfortunately I'm unfamilliar with your old haunts! Nice to meet you though -- have any suggestions for places I shouldn't miss if I'm in Bushwick?

gina - to be honest, i haven't been to my old neighborhood since 1962, when i went into the service. i would'nt venture into that part of brooklyn now though. have a good day.
