This is a good one to grow anywhere. I have seen it in and around ponds. In full sun, part sun.
Star of texas
Very pretty, I planted a few seeds this spring but nothing has come up..):
Beautiful plant! I just replanted mine this morning and I hope to get better results. I first got it almost a year ago to the day and it hasn't done anything at all! When I bought it it was quite small, some 12" tall and, after losing some ground to the winter frost, now it is the same height and shape as a year ago. I was actually starting to suspect that it was an artificial plant!:) Any tips to make it snap out of lethargy? Now it's planted in full sun, with cow manure and mulch.
I cant imagine what it could possibly missing. Is it getting plenty of water. I have had them in my pond before.
I just ran out to check and there are NO stickies or thorns.
That is not star of Texas. It is a hibiscus. It is on the tip of my tongue what it is.
Now that I have bought a 2 pack of this at ebay I have several seeds germinating!! hehehe Will have quite a few of these next year! Bonnie
Also exists a rare variety with pure white. See this link

WOW!! Bonnie
Ecolage looks like a terrific place to order plants. I pray they survive Hurricane Rita.
Someone called the cops on me and thought I was growing 100 illegal pot plants in my front yard and it turned out to be bad sunflowers... anyway, when I saw this plant at my friends house I jumped all over the chance to get seeds so that I could keep the party going for the dork who called me in.

Add some Castor Bean plants and some Jatropha multifida and he will about kill himself thinking you are growing TONS of Mary Jane!! hehehe Duh!! Some people don't even take a few minutes to check and make sure they have their facts even KIND OF straight!! Have fun!! Have some Castor Bean if you need some (course won't be able to grow them till next year) and I got the seeds for the plants I now have of Jatropha from MollyMC here. They germinate very quickly and easily!! Bonnie
Thanks for the offer Bonnie :) I an good on the seeds I have right now, but will certainly remember you if I should want some more incrimnating fora :)
