Delayed Intro

Hello, I've been lurking around for the past couple weeks. My name is Dave and I live in Hartford CT, my outdoor gardening is at my mom's about 20 miles south of here. I've taken on the task of recovering my dad's old vegetable garden from the weeds. Thank God for sunflowers and black eyed susans or mom would have made it lawn by now!! I'm trying to keep a diary but I find that between the garden and work I've little time to be online. Probably a good thing!! At this point I'm just trying to keep up with the arrivals from my spending binge on Ebay. More seeds than I'll ever use this year but I'm at least getting the live plants in the ground. For this year that will be good. I have somewhat of a plan on how to use the space but I'm content with getting more flowers than weeds for now. Well, just wanted to say hello to all. I'm sure I'll be asking questions as time goes on. Sadly I didn't pay that much attention over the years to what dad was doing so his knowledge went with him when he died. Well, at least there will be a garden. Dave

What a wonderful son you are! I'm sure that your Mother is so happy that you have taken on this task. My son came out at Christmas (from TN) and gave me a week's worth of "Honey Do's" that was badly in need.

Hi Dave and welcome to the best place to learn. I am not at the stage I can answer many questions but you can bet I will learn from any you and any others ask. I too did not take advantage of all my Dads knowledge when he was alive. But the more I do the more I realize some of it did sink in and I didn't even know.
