It was such a lovely sunny day here again today, and my Roses and other flowers were so happy to see the sun. I had to take pictures. First, here is one of my Yellow Hybrid Teas:
More Pictures for Today
Beautiful flowers Donna....the yellow Tea and the blue Pansies have caught my eye! Do you have them situated close together?
Actually Pam, the one Tea Rose that I photographed happens to be growing in the pond area as is my "Pot of Pansies". But I do have another yellow tea rose growing in my front Rose Garden called "New Day". I 'll get a shot of that one next time. :)
Donna, in your last photo, it doens't look like the yucca's that I have. I"ll get a picture of mine soon ( it's raining! ;( )
http://www.helpmefind.com/rose/pl.php?n=11902........this one was originally in the Grandiflora category....when this Kordes rose arrived in the US , he was put in the HT slot! E.
Donna, I concur with MG99 that your picture is not a yucca flower. That is actually the red hot poker. Mine is flowering right now too, and the hummingbirds love them!!!

I am so embarassed. You are absolutely right. Kniphofia. Sandy gave me one too at the RU, but it is smaller and isn't flowering yet. I have about 6 of these around my pond and I just assumed they were a small type of Yucca or something. The Identification forum ID it right away. Gosh, sometimes, I'm dumb. But slowly learning about all these new to me plants.

Heck, no need to be embarrassed!!!! Until a couple of years ago, I didnt' know what they were either. When we moved here from the prairies, I didn't know a darn thing about plants out here, and I still have a whole lot to learn. The gardening world is never-ending!!!

Donna, you've got to try and get an David Austin called Evelyn. I've had it for years and if it can survive in Newfoundland, it can survive just about anywhere! The flowers open ornage and age to peach-pink. The fragrance is a knockout!
Hmmm, I can smell it already. If it is that hardy, might be a good one for the Prairies. My Abraham Darby is peach colored as well. I love it, Have a vase of roses on my dining room table as we speak. Several of my Roses are blooming at present, but my very favourite one is just about to explode from gigantic buds; hopefully today or tomorrow. It is a HT called Rosie O'Donnell. The Red blend blooms are huge with a yellow reverse. When she blooms, I'll post a photo.
When your Evelyn blooms, Todd, please take some pictures for us too. :)
