How do you handle extremely long growth on your eppies? I've put mine in pots set in heavy iron stands about 3.5 -4 feet high. I've had them dragging the ground from these, and don't really have any tree limbs that will support their weight. Besides, it is frequently extremely windy here.
Any suggestions?

Not the most attractive solution, but tomato cages will do the trick. As an alternative a topiary form or trellis can be mounted within the pot or even next to your container and put in the ground. (That would asume you don't take them in during the off season.) I also have a lot of wind to deal with and have found that the iron stands give a good deal of stability to the containers.
Another alternative is to cut off the trailers, that's what I've been doing for several years. It makes for lots of new plants or trades.
When you cut off the ends, do you still get lots of flowers? Mine seem to bloom more on the ends of the branches.
So do mine, Gaylams.
I have mine in tall, heavy wrought iron plant stands, too. It seems to work the best for me. You know, if you were lucky enough to be able to grow them out in the garden under a tree they would look neat sitting on top of a big log placed on end. You could drill holes around the edge and glue 4-6" dowels into the holes to help keep the pot from tipping. With groundcover or flowers around the base of the logs, it would look pretty! I never cut the ends off....how would the snails get up to eat the flowers????? LOL

LOL, K... a snail ladder!
(I don't cut mine off either.)
LOL! I might need to get ladders for my plant stands!
That upturned log idea sounds great. I may have to steal it! :-)
Great ideas here......however snails are not the problem its the slugs......
hi salvia and K i found my way thanks for the tips!
Hi, Azulfire, Welcome to DG! (and to our Orchid Cactus forum) : )
Hi Azul! :~D
A neighbor of mine has them all lined up along her block wall fence in huge pots so they don't tip. They spill over on her backyard side and also on the side yard side.
