how long does it usally take?
from bud to flower
Hi Annac
It usually takes about a week lol...sometimes...it's really hard to say. I know I've been watching buds for a week so far, and I checked today still nothing has dropped out of the calyx. But after it does, it takes about 4 (est.) days to totally drop out then you watch for it to open...slowwwwwwwwwly LOL...it will really build up your aniticipation and test your patience lol...but it's all worth the wait. It makes you that much more excited to see it finally open. Then you watch for the color...
Maybe someone else has a different perspective on this but it's just a process that takes time :-)
Good luck and post pics when she opens :-)
Hugs
Julie
Here usually when I look and see a tiny little bud, I can say about 3-4 weeks before they open. The hardest part, like Julie said is when you can see the tendrils.. it seems to take FOREVER for the flowers to open.
When I first see little tiny buds, I usually expect to wait nearly a month for the first buds to open. Boy, it is a long wait too. They say a watched pot never boils and I'm beginning to think that watched buds never grow.
Shelly, we were posting at about the same time and definitely thinking the same thing. LOL!
LOL "Great minds"!!
the one in the front yard finally Y'ed and now i can see tiny itty bitty like a few cm long bud, and i am just so excited, and i want instant gratification lol.
How exciting! I hope you post pictures when it blooms! After the Y its smooth sailing.
i just ordered my digi camera a few days ago, it will be here soon i hope! i have so many things i would love to share
Glad I found this thread. My "Frosty Pink" have put it's first set of "Y's" and noticed at least 3 itty bity buds. I can't wait! High temps here have only been in the 60's but hoping it will warm up like it usually does in June.
