15 June 2005. It is hot and that is the final word on the weather.
The days begin earlier than usual now because of the heat. Gary leaves 5:45am, and I make the coffee, let the dogs out, and begin watering the black gumbo. RIght now the cracks are so wide and deep that I stay close to Huberta, my little chihuahua cow dog, for fear she will disappear.
The animals are listless and bored. So much so that I was able to catch Buck, the Billy, and give him his worm medicine. Snakes are bolder now because it is so dry; large, black fuzzy tarantulas are everywhere and hopefully will be communting elsewhere; flys are everywhere as well; and every spider is a brown recluse (as far as I am concerned).
It is a veritable jungle here in Monaville.
Summers here go for about eight months . . .
Regards,
Melissa
