HAVE: VINCA MAJOR ANYONE??

Northeast, AR(Zone 7a)

I have a huge bed that is filled with Vinca Major, a perennial, evergreen trailing ground cover with beautiful periwinkle blue blooms in the spring. At one time, I wanted this area filled with this stuff so I wouldn't have to mow and the hill wouldn't errode. Now, however, I'm a much more experienced gardener and I want to plant trees, shrubs and ornamentals here instead. And I've acquired a fondness for sedum ground covers and prefer them to this vinca.

Sooooooo, I have TONS of Vinca Major if anyone wants to trade for it. I can trim it all back so I can get more in a box. It's great in beds, containers or for erosion control. It does spread and trail out and eventually it will escape its boundaries but it roots near the surface and is easy to rip out where you don't want it.

I also have irises and cannas for trade in other posts. So if you're interested in trading, let me know. The vinca is outta here this week. By Sunday, I won't have anymore--if I'm lucky.

In trade, I'd like named daylilies and named hostas in particular. But I might consider other plants if I can fit them into my landscape design.

Sorry, I don't have time to dig, wrap, pack, and ship for postage. But if you live nearby, you can come and dig all of this vinca you want. I also have other plants I can share with you if you come by.

The pic below shows a pic of Vinca Minor which has smaller leaves and smaller blooms than vinca major. But you get the idea.

I have a bunch of yellow flowering sedum. Would you like that, for the vinca?

I have yellow flowering sedums, several kinds. But thanks anyway Barb. Wish you lived closer. You could have all you want for the digging.

No problem. I was more interested in giving away the sedum...LOL!
