I love shade perennials, but I'm not sure what you consider unusual.

Pulmonaria Mrs Moon
Pulmonaria Trevi Fountains
Pulmonaria Diana Clair
Sweet Woodruff (asperula oderata)
umpteen kajillion unidentified hostas (they were here when we bought the place - I'd have to give you pics)
one japanese painted fern baby - very small, maybe 3" across

Looking for Tricyrtis, any other than Miyazaki that is hardy in zone 4/5, dicentra zestful, any helleborus, any pulmonaria that I don't have already, hardy ferns, cimifuga, or any long blooming shade (mostly shade to full) perennials.

Also any pleasant surpise for a half sun/shade spot that I need to fill. For that I need a long and strong summer bloom in either pink, blue, or purple shades, 2-3' high. Having trouble deciding with this one - it's a high profile spot that used to be full shade smack-dab in front of the deck. My sweety cut out a couple of damaged tree limbs and I had to move my shade plants.
