Can any of you tell me what is doing this to my passiflora trifasciata leaves. And the cure?? These little brown dots are spreading over the plant.
leaf damage
Are the brown dots possibly just part of the coloration? are they the same color as the varigated veins? I had a Trifasciata once and it had one branch come out that had totally different leafs than the rest of the plant.

Flicker, I don't know what the spots are but mine did that last year and lost almost all its leaves. I though it was a gonner for sure but I sprayed it with a diluted fungicide (About half strength) and it recovered. I also sprayed it with Malithion..........hope the spelling is correct.
It ended up putting on new leaves and in about 2 months it looked like nothing had happened. I am assuming this is the parent of the one you sent me. So it could be a virus of some kind of fungus...........???????????? Oh yes and I moved it to another spot where it had a little more sun. It was mostly in the shade all day.
Mark, I have had this vine for years and it has always been perfect with no problems. It is definitely leaf damage.
Willow, This is the first year that I grow trifasciata in complete shade. I wanted a vine there and I knew it would grow. It is even blooming. I have noticed the same brown specks on dollar grass in full sun in this yard--so I will spray as you suggested. Thanks. Keep your fingers crossed!
I think part of the problem is that I am color blind so it all looks the same color to me. lol I really can't see it, please don't laugh at me. lol
