On-top sunset shades tuberous begonias

Here is a picture of my first on-top begonia in bloom. Sunset-shades.

The long pedicel really gives reason to the name (on-top)

Wow, that is so beautiful. I grow regular tuberous begonias and non-stops but I hadn't heard of the on-tops. Where did you get them?

I got my on-tops from harrisseeds

Thanks. I will have to look for them next year.

Are the plants themselves sturdy? My larger plants tend to get floppy and need to be propped up.

The plants are compact and sturdy.

That does it....next year I am getting some on-tops. Thanks for the info.

I was pleasantly surprised, too. Normally the flowers are covered with leaves and you have to try cut individual leaves to let the blooms out. Not with this one.. I will post more pictures when the rest flowers.

Great. I am looking forward to seeing them.

That is beautiful! Got to try some of those 'on-tops' next year. I'm trying tuberous begonias in the ground this year and have my first blooms now. Most look great, but in 2 of my clumps of 8 plants, there is one of the 8 that have pale green, floppy leaves. In both of these spots the other 7 plants are dark green and turgid. Any idea what would cause that or if it's normal for some? Both areas are mixtures; one a mix of picotees and the other a mix of solid pink and pink/white picotees. At first I thought perhaps one variety in the mix may just have that habit, but the 2nd is just a blend of 2 varieties and only one plant is showing this. Any ideas?
