Well, actually, she said they're "common" ROTFL. Mine is really blooming up a storm now. Yippeee! :-) And it smells soooooo good! :-)

Clare says they're boring, but I still love mine ;-)
julie, gorgeous blooms! mine are barely sprouting leaves.
Julie:
Never you mind -- they're gorgeous.
ROFL, Julie! I believe I said that was a common yellow (Celadine) and lovely! Celadine is actually one of my favorites. The fragrance is among the best of all the different species and cultivars. Yours is very beautiful, you, rascal, you:-)
Thanks everyone. I just got this beauty in August. It gave me several flowers before the winter rains set in, but usually just one at a time. It went completely bald due to the wind and rains and I was afraid all the water would rot it. But no way....this trooper stood up to the rains and is now putting on a fantastic show :-). It's only 3 foot tall.
Clare, I know I was twisting your words....just teasing you a bit. ;-) I think the white and yellow are the most elegant. Maybe common, but to my mind, nothing else compares. Yes, there are some truly amazing color displays on some of the cultivars, but my favorites are always the white and yellow :-).

Here they have no choice....if they're planted in the ground, they're gonna get LOTS of rain in winter LOL. I like everything about this one. The flower shape, the smell, the texture of the flowers....everything. Even my DH who usually just humors me about specific plants with a "ho hum, um, yeah, that's nice dear" response....he thinks this one is just "WOW!" :-)

I see our hubbies are a lot a like. My hubby is impressed too with the plumerias and gardenias. Everything else is "nice." LOL!
Julie that's one of the ones I have growing.......I'll be doing cartwheels when it blooms again!!!
It's so exciting to read...
Celadine is actually one of my favorites. The fragrance is among the best of all the different species and cultivars
You have yours in a pot I presume ;-). Unless you have a REALLY thick winter coat for it LOL. I can just picture the plants huddled together for warmth, cursing the nose-hair freezing cold up there ;-)
I hope yours blooms again for you very soon. When does it usually start to bloom for you?
Dunno what causes the pinkish spots here and there, but I think they add to the charm :-)

LOL Can't say Julie......last year our summer was one of the coldest on record. The poor Plumie tried but only one bloom on the inflo opened and the rest fell off. That was it's reaction to our summer :S
.....the winter was spent with two months in dormancy INSIDE (it has nice sized leaves now but no inflo YET ;).
This year should be following the norm......hot and dry (so I have HUGE hopes that I can win the *last to bloom prize* ;)
Why go for the last to bloom prize? You should wish that on someone else and hope you come in a good 10th place at best! :-) I'm sure there are others out there whose Plumies still haven't bloomed afterall :-)
-Julie
LOLOLOL......I can only hope! ;)
