I harvested this pod today
Maya x Butterfly
LindaSC I would be interested in a seed or two.
Linda
How exciting Linda!! I hope you get some color on the leaves! Will be here hoping!
ok 2pugdogs, PM me your address. You've just got to promise that you'll let me know what they do (how many germinate, photos etc).
I would love some seed, Linda, if you have enough. My growing beds ARE READY!
Carol
Carol, you've got 'em. PM me your addy (same as above, I would love to know what kind of results you get)
Linda I would love to give them a go
I will email you later. Thanks
Julie, you're 3. That's all
PM me your address and keep me posted on the results.
Thanks Linda :-)
I'm afraid I found this too late, but I'd love seeds, Linda!!
Me too...but I know I am way down the list :))
Margo
Sorry Margo, I only had a few to share and they're all spoken for.
Don't worry Linda I will keep you updated on them. I think I will start them as soon as I get them. What is everyone else going to do. Or should I wait awhile because they will have to be over wintered. I'm excited. Thanks a bunch.
Linda
Linda2pug, I'm thinking of putting some of my 05 seedlings in the ground because I'm not sure I can get them all in my GH. I peeled 45 seeds from one cross and, believe it or not, all 45 'threaten' to germinate, lol. Right now, I'm not as concerned about wintering them as I am about writing the name of their cross 45 times, whew!!
WOW Sherry what are you going to do with 45 new plants. It sounds to me you have a good success rate on germinating seeds. I can't believe that all 45 seeds had the gull to grow for you. ROFLMAO
Congratulations, hope these that I get will grow for me.
2pug, thanks, but that's the first time I've ever had that kinda luck, I could not believe it. I peeled them and let them dry more, instead of soaking them, first time I've tried that too. I really like peeling them because you at least know if there is a seed there. I peeled some crosses and only got four to plant and I'm not positive of them, couldn't get all the cork off...
Keep me informed on how they all do. Send a picture every now and then. I love baby pictures.
LindaSC sorry to have robbed your post.
We will be posting pictures of the new seedlings from LindaSC, it is going to interesting to see what we come up with.
Seeds are ready to go out, I'll stop at PO after work.
I am not sure Linda, but I think I have only heard of albino seedlings from Maya crosses. It would be too cool if you could get a new variegated brug with a different pattern.
Linda, I was afraid they'd be albino. All my seeds from crosses with variegated Brugs have been albino. I have my fingers crossed that they'll get some green in them.
Variegation and butterfly's fragrance? That would be my ideal!
edited to say.... A day late and a dollar short and I should've read the whole thread.
Congrats and good luck.

Wow...mine aren't up yet, Linda. Doing the Sprouting Dance and Growing Giggles!!!
Carol
Carol, I started mine on June 11, so yours should be up soon. They were right out of the pod and I understand fresh seeds sprout pretty fast. They'll probably all keel over in a day or two :(
LindaSC the seeds you sent me, do I need to peel them first? I do have my soil all sterlized and ready to go. I finally got me a foil pan with a lid cover to plant them in. I wanted to give that a try.
Linda
Linda2pd, I peel all mine just to make sure they are viable. I didn't peel last year and didn't have as many sprouts, so now I peel and seem to do much better. In one recent batch I had 15 of one cross and only 2 were viable and I had 48 in another and 45 were viable and 45 sprouted. I enjoy peeling them and find all the different corks and seeds interesting. Instead of putting the seeds in water, I put them in nothing for 2 days before I plant and, as a result, they sprout earlier, but of course it could just be the weather. I don't like the idea of planting and waiting around on seeds that were empty in the first place and I'm finding that even in the freshest batches there are empty seeds. Good luck!!!

Linda, sometimes I do, sometimes I don't. With these I think I did, just curious to see if there were really beans inside.
Linda how did your albino seedlings do? Did they die or are they a foot tall now. I send you a d-mail letting you know I finally got mine planted today. Soaked over night and they are planted. Will let you know how they do. I did peel them and there were seeds in each one.
Linda
They all croaked.
Linda, are all (or most) crosses with variegated parents albino?
I have read about the trials of Maya seedlings, and I was wondering if it has ever worked with the other variegated like suaveolens or peaches and cream.
bebe, I think that every rare now and then, there is a seedling with enough green to survive, but I've never had one.
Anybody out there got an answer?
Thanks Linda, it does make me wonder, lol.
Jackie
