Brugmansia 'Lazy Lady' aka: Golden Lady

Medford, NJ(Zone 6b)

Golden Lady has decided to put out almost a full flush of single blooms. The lazy gal. I guess I need to feed her and give her some fresh soil. I'm the lazy one when it comes to feedings and repotting. :)

Do you grow all your Brugs into standards? There is nothing lazy about that. She is absolutely fabulous!

Absolutely lovely!

I saw it too Gloria. A double over on the top left. Mine's not blooming yet either and didn't help that the dogs knocked off 2 good size branches the other day chasing something.

Datdog,

She's suppose to be a double??? If so maybe she decided to take it easy on this first flush!!!

As usual your Garden is so beautiful.

I have two Golden Ladies and they are both in the same stage of bloom. Odd, I thought. Moonglow this plant is three years old from a cutting. It's lived in the same pot all three years. I suppose it's time I changed the soil or something?

A few doubles tonight. It's almost in full flush. SO pretty.

Thank you everyone! You all know I'm a garden nut and would rather be out there then anywhere else.

If I do not root prune my brugs an repot with fresh soil every year, they look leggy and terrible. Also they dry out every day. How do you get by for 3 years and still get a full flush? Tell me yoor secret Kristi.

elyear- It's a unknown. It was the only perennial in the whole yard when we moved in almost four years ago. It's such a wonderful monster of a plant. Watch it croak now that I said that. LOL

Kell it grows so good because it's a cutting from your awsome growing GL :) You sent it to me I think the second year I lived here. Really, I think I can get away with keeping them in pots so long because I don't use too many commercial fertilizers. The soil doesn't get much of a build up of salts. I only use osmocote in the spring. I still haven't done that yet, although if you look closely you can see a bag on the table. LOL.... I have hopes of doing it this weekend. I also use a lot of the fish pond gunk and I think that does help. I'm sure I'll have to repot butterfly and Trash can seedling as their pots are way too small and they will dry out to fast when it starts to heat up in the summer. Or days like today when it's going to reach 92F again.
