Cedar Mulch and Nutrients

I'm not sure if this is the correct forum for this but I couldn't find a forum dedicated soley to mulch.
Does cedar mulch provide the plant with any nutrients? And if it does do I need to worry about over fertilizing if I mulch a plant with cedar and feed at the same time?
