I know this guy (the white one in the photo) is pretty common....but it is absolutely all over my garden and I am getting ready to dig a bunch of it out. I'll gladly share for postage (3.85 for small priority mail box full), or a trade.
CLOSED: Achillia everywhere!
Does it have another name? I can't seem to find out if it would live here. Do you have any left? Great color....
-=LuLu
That would be Yarrow / Achillea
what is the other red flower?
-Kim
Right right! Found it, I was spelling it wrong. I only have yellow ones. :)
Is the red Monarda?
yikes i HAVE to have some of this
PAypal?
(please say yes hehe)
Thripmaster, I'll trade you for some white yarrow. That looks like a nice creamy white you have there, not like the stuff I have which is more of a tannish white. What are you looking for in trade?
I've got some red hot pokers (yellow and reddish orange) that I'm getting ready to pullout. Also lots of different hostas, some named, some not but I can photo them. Just noticed today some seedlings of Primula japonica (which is just gorgeous!). Also have some Tiarella that is a good shade lover. The flower is pale pink. I have native sword ferns and lady ferns, some charteuse colored low-growing sedum, tricolored sedum....
See anything there?
Pixy
Yes, the red is regular old Monardia and the white is Achillia. Isn't the Monardia
pretty next to the achillia? Annac213...I'll gladly send some. Paypal is thripmaster@aol.com and postage will be 3.85. Pixydish, some for you too. If you have enough Prumula I would love that. I don't have any and the photo in plant finder is really pretty. If you don't have enough then either a hosta or Tiarella are fine. Don't want the plain unamed green hosta though or Francie. I have tons of those. LuLu....do your yellow Yarrow want a visit from their white cousins? Shawn, a care package coming for you too!
My yellows would love a new friend!! I don't want to sound greedy, but if there were another Monarda that happened to need a home, I'd be happy to find it a home too. That's such a great combo!
I don't have anything ready for dividing now, would PayPal be okay?
-Lu
Thripmaster, I'd love to "relieve" you of any leftover achillea you've got laying around too! I can Paypal postage to you, or can offer yellow-blooming Aptenia, citrosa geranium, margharita/blackie/Pink Frost sweet potato, mouse ear coreopsis........um, a Jewel Orchid start.......
Anyway, lmk if you're interested!
=) MKJ
Ok. I'm tired of packing these up and am closing the thread. MKJ, I did pack some for you and any of the above that you mentioned are great for trade. I've never grown and orchid :)
Robin, you're up to your ears in trades. I just hope you have some room in your garden when you visit me. I have lots of plants for you to choose from.
Yea....I really am up to my ears in trades. You should see the stuff to go out on Monday. Achillea, Elephant Ears, dahlia tubers! But the garden looks much better thinned down a little. Now I have room for NEW stuff!
Oh yea...those getting Achillea: The foliage is fine and fern-like. It colapses almost the minute you dig it up. But the plants grow by rhizomes and they are TOUGH! That can even make this plant a pest. If the leaves look bad when you get the package don't worry. Trim the bad off and plant right away. New plants come off the rhizome. Or if you really want to baby them then soak the roots to be sure the plant is hydrated, and then plant. They should grow fine. I call Achillea one of my garden Thugs. Hard to kill.
Wow--thanks, Thripmaster! I'm thrilled. =) I'll send you a nice mixture, and I'll be sure to pack up a Jewel start....it's the best of the orchids to start with because it's so easy and non-fussy! =)
Thanks for trading with me!
Kathleen/MKJ
Thanks Kathleen. If you send an orchid than I am for sure getting the best end of this trade. Let's see....a garden thug for a beautiful orchid....hmmmm.
Lol.......well, your thug will look lovely in my garden. =)
