musa ice cream plant growth rate?

Portland, OR(Zone 8b)

I bought this little guy from an online nursery last November I think. My little, we're talking a few inches tall at the most. He sat quietly until about April when he started growing. He's now at least 12" tall. I've been fertilizing with nana fertilizer once a week and watering as needed. If put outside, how much can I expect him to grow this summer?

they love water and natural fert.. like dog doo-doo. cow poooo. etc... I had a single plant about a foot tall last year and I had 4 plants keeping the soil moist and fert...

How tall did your plant end up getting by the end of the summer?

Here they'll grow 8-10' in a single growing season.

8 - 10'!! Holy moly. Guess I'll be picking up a few more 15-gallon containers. My basjoo is already 2+ feet and it was so small 6 months ago. The "ice cream" is going to my sister who has 20-foot ceilings in her dining room to overwinter it.

As a newbie, I thought it would be really cool to get some baby nanas and raise them. All 9 of them. Will be interesting to see how I get them back in the house as only 1 out of the 9 will over winter here.

basjoo is very hardy and Ice cream hardy in your zone
