Alittle late with the picture, the two huge flower pods there have already started to go to seed, Hoping to get seed off these this year, this flower has got a heavenly scent to it, but absolutely no butterflies on it at all. I have several kinds of milkweed, and i've not seen one butterfly on them. this is its first year tobloom like this,a nd not very many blooms for the plant to be as huge as it is, about 3 foot tall maybe taller and massive, for one plant, I've had to stake it so it doesn't fall over. I have a orange milkweed next to it that's alot shorter, will they cross? wonder? the orange hasn't bloomed yet, so maybe not.
soulmate milkweed
Which species is it?
Which species is it? A. syriaca?
gosh I have n't a clue, sorry.
Do you have a lot of butterflies now? I have some, but not as many as I will later on. Maybe when more come you will notice them using it. By time my Monarchs get here my milkweed is going to be huge. I have no idea about them crossing either.
