Delosperma nubigenum - http://davesgarden.com/pf/showimage/74771/
I dug some of this up to give to a friend only to find that she's wanting "formal" gardens and not my random "oooooh, I love this plant, must have, need to find space, yummy, how cool is this" kind of gardens. :~)
I have one enormous chunk (bigger than 12" by 12") and three smaller chunks (5"-ish by 7"-ish) that I need to mail out today or tomorrow. I just need to put them in boxes and affix a label to them. I also have some cannas that need new homes, too. My backyard looks like a barely tamed flower jungle.
For trade, I'd like to have heuchera, tiarella, dicentra or pulmonaria. I'm adding some goodies to my parent's gardens instead of my own since our future is quite unknown right now.
CLOSED: Quick trade of yellow-blooming ice plant
Hey your yard looks like mine! Nothing wrong with that.
Me me! I have a couple of heucheras extra from the coop?
Yes, indeed, Terre. I will say, though, that although the PF lists this plant as hardy to zone 5, I am not sure just how cold this plant can go. Here, it tolerated the winter just fine, but the very tops of the plant were reddish instead of green. It could be that our wind is the culprit or the snow we had. Not sure. To be safe, I'd put some outside and when the season comes to a close, bring some inside as a houseplant. I'm growing some in containers right now and it seems to be doing very well. It does need a sunny spot, though.
I can send you two of the smaller chunks in exchange for the two heucheras?
What varieties are they, by the way? Just curious.
